Gusdorf (LPENS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ANR-25-CE31-5364<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project &#8220;Voyage into the Engine with the Webb teleScope&#8221; (VIEWS) aims to explore the interplay between Black-Hole feeding and AGN-feedback (star formation regulation by Active Galactic Nuclei) mechanisms in the core of massive galaxies. VIEWS leverages the capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) cycle 3 (2024) project GO5018 to provide high-resolution imaging and spectroscopy of six selected Brightest Cluster Galaxies. These observations will map warm molecular gas, ionised gas and dust. Exploiting our JWST data will contribute to the understanding of the co-evolution of super-massive-black-holes and galaxies. Our team gathers experts of multi-wavelength observations and data analysis, photo-ionisation and shock models, state of the art hydrodynamical simulations. The complementarity of researchers and expertise from the Observatoire de Paris, IAP and LPENS has proven to be a real strength to make significant progress in the understanding of the gas cycle in massive galaxies in the presence of AGN-feedback.
